Let's go to the upgrade step by step. This instructions contain information for upgrading from prior 2.0 versions (alpha, beta, beta2, interim releases). For migration from version 1.8.2 to 2.0, please read the documentation package available to Club Members or refer to our forum.

Step by step:

  1. Download the Latest Stable package from www.joomfish.net (don't unzip it);
  2. Go to your Joomla! Administrator panel;
  3. Ensure that you are using version of Joomla! 1.5.6 or later;
  4. Go to Extensions -> Installation;
  5. Choose the downloaded zip file;
  6. Click on Upload & Install
  7. Now you need to go either with eXtplorer or FTP client and ensure that the following two files were deleted by the installation script:

- administrator/components/com_joomfish/admin.joomfish.php

- administrator/components/com_joomfish/JoomfishManager.class.php

You are done - YES, that's all. Future upgrades would be even easier.

  1. The process worked as easy as described - when following it 100%. That is: Upload the file from your desktop. I received an error message (something about xml) when using the option to install via installation path on the server.
  2. If you're using an upgrade patch you cannot install them through the installer, please read the instructions on the download page.
  3. xml error on using Joomla installer - please supply alternate/fix upgrade instrcutions
  4. hi I am upgrading from 2.03 to 2.04 and I get the following error Error! Could not find an XML setup file in the package. any idea ?
  5. I have this message: -1 - An error has occurred. It was not possible to copy the selected file. Why?
