It is our first day, after the RC version was made available as a package to the donors (and through the SVN for anyone) and the really good news is that there was no single bug confirmed in this day. All the issues reported were mainly related to the incompleted documentation so far (however, today we uploaded an updated PDF, prety close to the final one) or related to the deletion of cache.

To be honest, in my prior experience, most of the bugs are found in the first few days and that we still don't have a confirmed bug (one is under review) is a very good news.

We also started recieveing the first translations and some of the club extensions were updated within 24 hours to work properly with the RC version. Yes, the RC version comes with a lot of changes and restructures.

Of course, many of you are asking what is next? Today we had few talks withing the team and we were discussing the ... version 2.1 features. Yes, we consider now the version 2.0 as feature complete, we will fix all bugs found in it (hopefully none) and we go for the next version.

As you might already seen, the whish list forum is now available for the next 2.1 version. For the end users of Joom!Fish that should be a very good sign. A sign that means the team itself considers that 2.0 is close to Stable. And again, when ... when it comes, but my feeling is that Joom!Fish stable will go out in September or early October (no guarantee indeed).

Now we need to think about:

  • The 3PD content elements (volunteers wanted)
  • 2.0 translations (including the help files)
  • 2.1 Feature requests - YES, we are already in process of thinking what we can improve in 2.1
We call all that a nice party job. Or we really enjoy what we are doing, what the people think about the extension and the support. Wanna joing? Then you could either find your way to contribute or leave a fair review for Joom!Fish in the Joomla! Extensions Directory. And we know that we are the best :), we just need you to become even better.

  1. thanks.. we hope the work continue faster
  2. Hi John, just get the trunk/2.x package - you can e.g. export this to your local machine. This export includes anything you need. If you pack it into a zip archive you have your installable package. The link is http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/joomfish/scmsvn/
  3. super great news :)
  4. How and what would we download from SVN to test this? Is there an installer package? What would be the link to that particular item. Thanks, -John
