Menu localisation dosn't work, it seems but it is not workin

Postby JohnGalt on Thu Jun 21, 2012 1:14 pm

Hello to everyone,

I saw on my website that the menu localisation plugin doesn't work.

I have Joomla 1.5.20 and the menu_localisation plug-in is at version 1.0 (I downloaded some time ago when I did Membership).

The problem is weird because I can see the localisation button in the menu page, I click it, I select the language (The most of the content are in italian, and I want to translate the one that are not translated in the other languages) but when I open the frontend of the website I can see the italian voice also in the other languages (english, spanish, russian and german).
The plugin is installed and active.
The website is at www.solariumsmart.it

There is a system to solve this?
Thank you very much to everyone will help me.

Hi,

first of all it is highly recommended that you update your page to the latest Joomla version. Highly!

Concerning the menu item. If you want to translate a menu item just translate it. You do not need the localisation plugin for that. By default, the translation will appear. The plugin us needed if you do NOT want to show the menu item in another language!

Thanks Rooney,
I will make the update, the problem with the plugin is that I don't have all the contents in all languages.
Some parts are not translated and include many material that I can't translate.
So I need to hide it for the language where there is no translation. I have also payed a membership and the plugin to do this because I really need it.

But the plugin doesn't hide anything, even if I can see the "Localise" button in the menu page. I set to hide the menu item, I save, but nothing work.

Thanks Rooney, I will make the update quickly.

About the menù items and the plugin, I know what the plugin in theory must do, and is exactly what I want to make.
I have a website in italian that is very complete, with articles and many other stuff, and the other in different languages that are not so rich. So I need to hide the menu items in the other languages.
Now the main problem is that the plugin seems to work properly, I can see the "localise" button in the menu item page, I can select in which languages I want to show the content, I save, but after this, I can still see the items in all languages!

In the past the plugin was working, I don't know why now doens't work. It is a very weird behavior.
