Translation problem: original text not in text box

Postby perwallner on Tue Dec 09, 2008 5:55 pm

Hi, I just started using JF and it really shines like a diamond in a gloomy world - well done !
99 % has been just plain work, but I do have one problem that I don't really understand how to solve.
When translating some content I don't get the original text in the text box, but rather in the background, see attached picture.
I can copy it to the translation text box and translate it. I cannot enter a translation for the TITLE since it's 'covered' by the original text. I cannot publish it (that is, I can tick the publish box but when I save it it remains unpublished). Funny thing is, the translation is available on the site, so it kind of works. However, since I can't translate the Title it shows up untranslated.
As far I can tell there's nothing differing between the few content items that behave this way and the vast majority that work the way it should.

Any ideas? Any further input I can supply?

All feedback is greatly appreciated1

Does the original contain some tables, divs etc? It looks like a scrapy HTML for me.

Thanks Ivo,
actually, yes it does include some divs and stuff:
<br />Lösenord <font color="#339966">demo</font>, password <font color="#339966">demo</font>.</p><p>&nbsp;</p></div>

whereas 'succesful' articles do not.
Still, afaik the article is created within Joomla, so whatever crappy html is there comes from Joomla I guess. :?

Anything in the above that could cause this situation?

Ivo, uhhhh... yeaaahh... (aka "so that's how absolute works..." )
Thanks, that solved it altogether; rewriting it all as relative did the trick (www.gosafeab.se)

On a side note, I noticed that the Swedish flag never showed up; it turned out that the JF flag image is named se.gif, whereas the short code for sv-SE is sv. Copying the file did it, of course, but maybe this is a mild bug?

Thanks again,

This is fixed for the stable.
However, COUNTRIES HAVE FLAGS and not the languages. And Sweden country code is SE ;)

Now also one thing. Flags option is a feature, but flags files ARE just sample data. We are not going to add more flags in future.
