Install 2.5 Stable in existing Multinlingual site

This forum is to discuss everything related the future release of Joom!Fish dedicated to Joomla releases 1.7 and higher. The first edition of this release will be re-using the existing data storage logic and therefore be compatible with the Joom!Fish 2.2 released regarding table structure and logic.

Install 2.5 Stable in existing Multinlingual site

Postby JoomfishFollower on Fri Jul 20, 2012 9:15 am

Hi,

Joom!Fish stable is of course not released yet.

My first question is will Joom!Fish "import" existing translations?

Second, why would I pay for a subscription plan today when Joom!Fish is still in Alpha version?

Third, I made the terrible error of upgrading a multilingual (8 languages) site to J2.5, until now I'm spending too much time with the core system and lost money (above all - time) with another translation component that is simply not working. Can you please communicate more on Joom!Fish 2.5 ? How many alpha versions, beta versions, release candidate... this can years. Joomla 2.5 (not Joom!Fish) is my worst web experience!!!! There are hundreds maybe thousands people desperately waiting for your component. Please put all your efforts to release it asap, even if it has to become a commercial component...

See viewtopic.php?f=48&t=11362#p38684 in the "Migration from JoomFish on Joomla 1.5.x to JoomFish on Joomla 2.5.x" section.

See this: http://www.joomfish.net/en/downloads. You would pay for a subscription plan if you would want any of the Joomla 1.5 extensions that are made available only for Club Members (in my humble opinion as a JoomFish volunteer). Or of course if you would want to donate for the costs that the Core Team has in keeping this site up. And I've seen people saying they became a Club Member just to show their support.

Note that you can help yourself: JoomFish for Joomla 2.5 is available to test and feedback is appreciated. That's how issues/bugs get found and solved. You can see it in this board where users have taken the time to test JoomFish for Joomla 2.5 and have reported issues, either here or on github.

Just my two cents...
