Joomfish for J 2.5 - how many days of work, approximateley?

This forum is to discuss everything related the future release of Joom!Fish dedicated to Joomla releases 1.7 and higher. The first edition of this release will be re-using the existing data storage logic and therefore be compatible with the Joom!Fish 2.2 released regarding table structure and logic.

Joomfish for J 2.5 - how many days of work, approximateley?

Postby chgeiselmann on Sun Mar 18, 2012 9:10 pm

Dear all,

Please, if somebody has enough insight, I would like to ask: Could you give an estimate how many days of work (or hours, or months, or whatever unit you like) will be necessary in order to get the Joomfish Beta Version for Joomla 2.5 into a state worth using on life sites? (Calculated on an experienced programmer, of course.)

Thank you!

Kind regards,

Christian Geiselmann

I would also really appreciate it if we could get some rough information about how long it will take until a beta / stable release comes out. just so that we know if we have to wait weeks, months..?

i am about to start a new project and i dont know if i should still wait for joomfish :?

Having asked the same question for about a year now in different threads, I am joining this one and join the choir:

What is happening?

Will our patience be rewarded - or is it time to leave the ship? Please clear the uncertainty, will the 2.5 version be released in the foreseeable future, or is it more a question of months - if at all?

All I need is an honest estimate and I'll swear I'll be quite for ever more...

I have to moderate my latest post. Having had a look at the milestones, I see that the alpha release of 2.5 is just days away and the first beta release a few weeks. That is most encouraging!

I agree with all the people.
We are developers, and we have clients and deadlines.
We must plan and for that we need dates.
So can we have a date (Joomfish is it the only one not to have a roadmap ? ).
Please can we have a date?

Thank you in advance.
Sincerelly yours.

Of course not.
The first alpha release is provided for next year :D
No, I'm kidding. Joomfish has no roadmap yet, and so have any answer for that question...
(poor communication, poor result). If I were you I would turn to FaLang or maybe Josetta...

We pay the most expensive Gold membership this month, that we want to use the new JoomFish but... we should probably just wait, no one can tell us how much it will take.

This is a big problem, because our foreign partners can not use our website and business is weaker.

Instead, we use Google Translator plugin but it's misery.
