Upgrading from 1.7 to 1.8.0 - issues and solutions

don't forget to save before the ContentElementFiles put in the folder ...\administrator\components\com_joomfish\contentelements because there are lost when you uninstalle joomfish

So
save the ContentElementFiles
un-installed the version 1.7
I installed the version 1.8
I ran jf18_fix.
restore the ContentElementFiles

I need to know how to do a save upgrading from joomfish 1.7 to 1.8.2

It is recomanded to backup the database and Joomla! installation before uninstalling joomfish 1.7
Could you tell me how to do it?

1. Backup your database and Joomla! installation
2. Backup your 3PD content elements
2. Check that your Backup is working correct
3. De-Install Joom!Fish 1.7 (Joom!Fish preserves it's own tables while de-installation)
4. Make sure all files(bots, modules and component files) are deleted from your server
5. Install Joom!Fish 1.8
6. Restore your 3PD content elements

J!F ETL plugins are meant only for migrating from J!F 1.8.2 into J!F 2.x version. With all earlier versions (1.7, 1.8.0, 1.8.1) you have to upgrade first into 1.8.2.
