Well, I don't see much sense in trying a beta version to work with Joom!Fish. Wasn't 1.1 planned to work on Joomla! 1.5 only?

ok so I downgraded to vm1.013 because I had an issue with 1.1 and actually vm1.013 does the same. Your trick to translate vm's content elements works fine but (I am translating english to japanese) for product title and short description, it replaces the japanese text by

こにちわ

for long description, no problem...
Any clue to fix this?
thank you very much

Hi, I've a question about the frontend. Is it possibile to translate virtuemart products, directly from the frontend? I've authorized publishers and above to translate the site in joomfish config, and I am able to edit almost anything from the frontend, switching between a language and another, except for virtuemart products.

If I try to translate a virtuemart product from the frontend, i've noticed two different behaviours:
- for a product that hasn't been translated yet, it only changes its description in the default language of the site, regardless the one that is secelted at that moment. (eg. base language=english, additional language=german. I select german language and edit a product. When I save it, it changes its description as if i had selected english language and not german, and so i don't have a real translation, but it only changes the english description in a german one!)
- for a product that has already been translated (via the backend), if I try to edit it from the frontend in a language other than the default one, it overwrites the default description with the one just edited. (eg. I select german language and edit an already translated product. When I save it, the result is that i have german description in the english site as well).

Thank you anyway!

Well, translation of any component from the frontend should be supported by the component itself. I don't think VM supports it.
