sh404SEF vs Joomfish

This forum talks about everything related to SEF/SEO extensions and Joom!Fish
Forum rules
When you use a 3rd party SEF extension, you need to turn off JFrouter. The SEF extension should take care of the routing of your URL's

First check if you are running the latest available versions of Joomla! (1.5.18), Joom!Fish (2.0.4) and the SEF extension you're having problems with.

We need the following at least (you can find this in your Joomla! backend under help > system info):

* Joomla! version
* Joom!Fish version
* SEF-Extension version
* PHP version (e.g. 5.2.5). Note: The support for PHP4 is discontinued.
* Web Server software (Apache or IIS with version number if possible)
* Server Operating system (e.g. Linux, Windows, Solaris, Darwin ...)
* Webserver to PHP interface
* Database version
* memory_limit from your phpinfo

Please enable error reporting and include any error messages in your posting.

Finally, please describe the steps required to recreate the problem and also please enable error reporting and give us any error messages generated.

sh404SEF vs Joomfish

Hello,

I noticed and got confirmation that automatic language detection does not work when you use the above two together. Now the question is what are the differences between these modules?
Can JoomFish (extra plugins) do :
- An automatically perform a 301 redirection to the new address if the old address doesn't work anymore?
- automaticly Integrated Title,Meta, Robots and language tags ?
- nice SEF URL's for people and search engines?
Those are my most important questions :-)
I can do the security stuff (like honeypot) with apache so that problem is solved.

I tested both and these work quite well with the latest versions.

Hi all,

I have a problem, my config:
Code: Select all
joomla 1.5.7 + JoomFish 2.0.1Stable (patched from 9.01.2009) + com_sh404SEF-15_1.0.17

Apache/1.3.41 (Unix) mod_choke/0.07
PHP version: 5.1.6
MySQL database: 4.1.21-standard
memory_limit 32M

SEF404:
I've installed SEF404 latest build:
com_sh404SEF-15_1.0.17_Beta_build_225.joomla1.5.x.zip - from Jan 08, 2009

my site is:
http://demo.fenypost.hu/sziekoli/

i have an error:
Code: Select all
Notice: Undefined index: mosConfig_defaultLang in /web/fenypost/fenypost_demo/sziekoli/plugins/system/shsef.php on line 248

but it works... except one thing:
if you visit this page:
http://demo.fenypost.hu/sziekoli/gasztr ... nomia.html

and try to switch langueade with selector there is a strange error with the link of the default language (for me hungarian).

the links on the flags:
hun -
Code: Select all
http://demo.fenypost.hu/sziekoli/gasztronomia/Gasztronomia.html
- /hu/ is missing
eng -
Code: Select all
http://demo.fenypost.hu/sziekoli/en/gasztronomia/Gasztronomia.html
- /en/ is there
de -
Code: Select all
http://demo.fenypost.hu/sziekoli/de/gasztronomia/Gasztronomia.html
- /de/ is there

the default language link is always "bad" ... if you switch to this default language it creates tons of errors.. but if you stay on the link and refresh the page the page shows up as it should at the first time...

i know it is SEF404 problem, and i will post this on SEF404 forum too... just maybe someone know the solution ;)

thank you

flerd

Same problem, only different J! : 1.5.8 instead of 1.5.7 :
PHP Built on: Windows NT UNIMS03 5.2 build 3790
Database Version: 5.0.45-community-nt
Database Collation: utf8_general_ci
PHP Version: 5.2.3
Web Server: Apache/2.2.4 (Win32) mod_ssl/2.2.4 OpenSSL/0.9.8e mod_autoindex_color PHP/5.2.3 mod_perl/2.0.3 Perl/v5.8.8
Web Server to PHP interface: apache2handler
Joomla! Version: Joomla! 1.5.8 Production/Stable [ Wohnaiki ] 10-November-2008 23:00 GMT
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; nl; rv:1.9.0.5) Gecko/2008120122 Firefox/3.0.5

Joom!Fish Version: 2.0.1 + January bugfix
sh404SEF Version: sh404SEF-15_1.0.17_Beta_build_225.joomla1.5.x

Also still a blank screen on the JF Control Panel with following options tried (problem also occuring without sh404SEF ext):
    Enabled/disabled FTP in J! Global Configuration
    Turned on/off cache handling in Joomla as well as in Joom!Fish (tried changing the setting in JF Parameters as well as straight in the Database)
    Turned on/off JF News Module in Joomla as well as in Joom!Fish (tried changing the setting in JF Parameters as well as straight in the Database)

If someone needs more data, or suggests that I am overlooking something on both problems, please let me know so i can try.
Developers of Joom!Fish or sh404SEF may also ask for login details if something needs to be tested.
