Translating component that uses files as language

Postby aktee on Mon Dec 29, 2008 6:34 am

I know how to translate components by creating an XML in contentelements dir.
The component I'm trying to translate has a english.php. I'm trying to make it switchable like the rest of the site..

I'm desperate, i'm about to convert english.php to a mysql table =|...

please, where do I start?

It's called MaianMusic.
I worked it around.
There's a table named jos_mm_settings, with a cell named "language" and its value "english.php"
I created a translation to that value, to change it to "french.php".

Works out very well.

Thanks everyone.

That is a cool solution.
Joomfish of course does not have to be applied to translation into different languages.
With a little lateral thinking and application site contents, style and extensions can be switched using the same underlying technology.
