Yes, for that reason I upgraded to 2.0.4, hoping the problem will go away.

@ladea,

could you check if you published your translations? With Joom!Fish 2.0.3 I don't have any problems. On 2.0.4 I confirm to have problems.

I have the same problem too - translated the poll options, and yes, published them too, everything seems fine and perfect on back end. But the translation won't appear on the page.

Joomfish 2.0.4
Joomla 1.5.14

Help, anyone?

Hi all,

After a long time me not being able to reproduce the problem I finally found the difference between the server setup's.

It is the database driver MySQLi (with i) that is recommended by JoomFish anyhow. If you use the standard MySQL driver (without i) you get this problem as the module helper does not use a more lax way of describing the query.
See: http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f ... 5#p2016565

We will have a look at our analysis of the queries - for the moment you can come around the problem if you changed the driver to the recommended MySQLi (which is also much faster).

I tried the solution offered by SarakinosL in the forum above (http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f ... 5#p2016565) and problem solved in 2 seconds!

... at least for now it saves me from having to switch to MySQLi (cos I don't know how to).

Alex: glad you figure out the problem. Do you think there'll be more issue in the future if I don't switch to MySQLi?

Changing to mysqli works great.
To change to mysqli, just go into Global Configuration, server tag, and change the value.
It is much more safe IMHO than hacking core (which anyway did not work for me here).

MySQLi is the newer and more reliable database connector especially if you use MySQL 5 as database. We know that there are performance handicaps if you use the old connector with the new database version. However this is the first issue we know about related to the coding. Personally I think that some problems of 3rd party extensions can be related to similar issues even if they are not verified yet. This is why I recommend using MySQLi.

Oh okay, that was easy. Did that and it works - it's set to MySQLi now.

Alex: thanks! I've followed your advice...
